Justine Ungaro has just published a stack of images of her first Musée album on her blog and agreed to let us feature them here too. A beautiful wedding. Beautiful album. And beautiful bride... You may recognise her as former American Idol judge, Kara Dio Guardi ;) Here's what Justine had to say about Queensberry and her first Musée... I discovered Queensberry albums way back in 2003, my first year at WPPI and have been using them ever since. Queensberry is based in New Zealand and their attention to detail and level of craftsmanship of their albums is always notable. However, in 2010 they really To View More >>

Justine Ungaro just blogged about her first Musée album. She's given Nigel permission to republish the post on the Queensberry Blog, but meantime you might like to check it out on Justine's own site. Justine shot lots of images before handing the album over, and we love it. Cheers, Ian PS Some of you will recognise the bride, former American Idol judge Kara Dio Guardi. To View More >>

I just participated in a panel discussion on management accounting for professional photographers. Well I was invited, but my contribution was zero (I'll explain in a minute). However the experience brought something to mind that I think is important, so here goes. Having an accountant (and keeping regular management accounts) is like having one leg. A damn sight better than none. But two is much better. The first leg is the data, keeping score. The second leg is analysis: strategising, playing what-if with the numbers, thinking through your options and how they might impact your bottom line. To View More >>

We discovered With Etiquette when we were looking for music for the Queensberry By Hand movie (thanks for all the views, tweets and blogs, everyone - it really struck a chord). Nice people, cool site and they seem to work with a lot of photographers. Check 'em out. Cheers, Ian To View More >>

It's been a little while since we last updated our popular Intro to Photojunction webinar recording on our Vimeo channel. It's had thousands of views, but with so many new changes to the software since it went up earlier this year, a newer version was due. So we recorded last week's session and it's now available to view online, anytime... Watch it full screen (and in HD) here. Remember, if you'd like to join one of our live weekly webinars, check out our webinar schedule for details. We'd love you to join us. Cheers, Nigel To View More >>

Determined to not let the rain spoil their day, Louise and Phil made the most of their personal wedding ceremony and travel themed reception at Packington Moor Farm, Staffordshire, UK. Their photographer Claire Evans says, "Louise came prepared to brave the weather with a pretty pair of red and white spotted wellies, her bridesmaid had purple ones, and even Phil had his brand new pair to wear if needed!" Luckily a break in the weather later in the day, allowed them to venture out into the surrounding countryside for some bridal photos... and make good use of those wellies! Louise and Phil chose To View More >>

I'm looking at a truly beautiful print (sorry I can only show you a 233K JPEG). Where does it's beauty come from? It starts with a beautiful flower. I don't know who bred it or nurtured it, but I wish I did. It's a beautiful composition. I do know that the stylist was Katie Lockhart, the photographer Sjoerd. It's a beautiful file, worked to perfection at Alt group as part of our re-brand last year. And it's beautifully printed. Here's the thing. The beauty in the print is totally dependent on everything that went before. Break the chain and you're left with ordinary. Normally in our business we're To View More >>

Have you ever asked yourself questions like these: I know how much I want to earn, but how much do I need to charge my clients to make it? How much is enough? What happens if my bookings go down, or I move to cheaper albums... or shoot-and-burn? Then check this out... We've just uploaded a recording of our latest album-based marketing webinar in which Ian uses his Minimum Average Sale Calculator to help you answer those questions - and more important, show the impact on your income if you change what you're doing - or your bookings go up or down. What made this wedding extra special for US photographer Andy Donnan was that it was the wedding of his grandmother - aged 83. Ruth and Jerry wanted to keep things simple and low-key, and other than the Pastor, Andy and his girlfriend were the only guests present. Andy says, "My grandmother raised me since I was a baby. Effectively, she is whom I call mum and grandma. I love her and am forever thankful. "It was so great to spend a couple of hours photographing for her and Jerry (and for the rest of our families). July is the busiest time of the year for me, so to have the free-time to witness and To View More >>
