All Amy and Grant's wedding plans nearly ground to a halt with a massive snowfall the evening before. Photographer Guy Collier, who shot their big day, says, "Things were a bit touch and go the night before, but we made it in the end. They're a great couple and we had great fun." The chilly weather bomb made for some great bridal photos. Here's their 14x10 album... To see more images from Amy and Grant's wedding, check out Guy's blog. Cheers, Nigel To View More >>

I like to think I am a power user for Photojunction. Every now and then, however, I feel like I get smacked in the face with "How did I never know this before?!" One of my favorite things about Photojunction might be the seemingly endless possibilities. Properly trained in Graphic Design, I despise having to use a mouse. I prefer using a tablet whenever available, but I also work on a laptop quite a bit, so I have adjusted to my trackpad as well. Not quite as accurate as my stylus, I still find I am better with a trackpad than a mouse. If you haven't seen it yet, Apple recently release the Magic To View More >>

I’m dropping my prices … people aren’t spending as much … my bookings are down … I need to go to cheaper albums … I’ve started doing shoot-and-burn … I’m worried about my income. You’ve heard the talk. Are you struggling in the face of competition, recession and demanding clients? Or do you just want to hear someone else’s take on things? As well as our usual Photojunction webinars, we’re hosting two new ones on the most critical issue facing professional photographers: how to survive and thrive in today’s demanding market. Nigel's post about Chris MacKenzie creating his own luck reminded me the world is full of opportunities. The problem is to recognise them and take action. I was at a seminar in the States 2-3 years ago, a roomful of high net worth business people plus me. We got to talking about Queensberry, and wedding albums in general. Not one of them had ever seen a Queensberry or anything like it. One guy had recently married at an exclusive Carribean resort … spent a gazillion bucks on the event … and "ticked the box" for a shoot-and-burn DVD from the resort's tame photographer. I had to go and get an To View More >>

When a bride comes to you and says, "Can you make me look slimmer on my wedding day?" we say "Yes". We say "Yes… but we need to work on this together." Often the dream comes with an expectation. Anything that is not ideal will somehow miraculously correct itself on the day ... or at least we, as the recorders of the day, will create the truth that they, the happy couple, hoped for. So when the bride says, "I want to look thinner on my wedding day" we tell them they need to help us out. (Sometimes this is the not so subtle difference between our roles as dream keepers and miracle workers – Photoshop To View More >>

Meet Chris MacKenzie. He's new to the industry. He's working hard to build his business. He's doing it in the tough UK market. And, he's just set up a promotion with an exclusive venue in his area. A real 'corker' to use his words. "The first day I was there, I met the Executive Vice President at Pebble Beach Golf Resort. The next day I met a billionaire. On my third visit, I met an Australian couple who'd just returned from a luxury six week tour of Europe. They were so taken by my sample albums that the chap started asking about using Queensberry to display his holiday snaps." Now some might To View More >>

This week's feature album comes from French photographer Mathilde Magne who captured Barbara and Ludovic's big day. Mathilde shares the couple's love story explaining, "Barbara and Ludovic first fell in love at the age of nine before moving away from each other. After 21 years apart, they met again several years ago and both felt like nothing had ever changed between them. They married on 25 June 2010." This is their 18x10 Duo album complete with matching 7-inch copy... Click here to view Barbara and Ludovic's entire album. Cheers, Nigel To View More >>

Shortly after the iPad was announced, Nigel posted about wanting to run Photojunction on it. While that hasn't happened (yet), the iPad has become quite a popular tool for photographers. Personally, I like to use it to present final album designs to clients. Photojunction makes creating and editing layouts so simple, that sitting there with a client flicking through their spreads takes the mystery out of knowing exactly what they'll end up with. There are so many presentation options within Photojunction, but here's a few that work with the iPad... 1. Slideshows Want an album slideshow to fit perfectly To View More >>

UK photographer Simon Whitten of Firehorse Photography shot Emma and Ben's wedding in the heart of winter on 9 January, 2010. Simon says, "This was my fourth wedding in a row this winter with snow on the ground, but it didn't stop us spending 20 minutes shooting the couple in the ruins of the neighbouring Bolton Priory... complete with Emma's grandmother's fur coat." They married at the New Life Church in Bradford, Yorkshire followed by their reception at The Devonshire Arms in the Yorkshire Dales. To view more of Simon's work check out his blog.
