Did you see the album we posted on our brand blog. Michael Soo photographed it himself and I stumbled across it. He photographed Christine and Ben's album when it arrived and, as well as blogging it, emailed them a few photos as a teaser. Ben wrote back within minutes saying, "We're on our way!" What a great, easy way to enhance the excitement and experience for his clients of seeing their album for the first time. Cheers, Nigel PS Good for business too, and we see more and more people putting juicy photography up for clients, their friends and prospects to see. To View More >>

Girls, here's a tip. Go out and buy yourself a nice big folder. The ring binder type is good. Something that you can keep adding to. Call it your 'Wedding Folder'. The only reason I know anything about this is because Kayla bought a 'Wedding Folder' the day after we got engaged. And the only reason I'm talking about it is because it became our most important wedding planning resource. Kayla divided it up into sections - receipts, ideas, booking forms, correspondence, stationery... that kind of thing. In that folder went everything even remotely related to our wedding: pictures of dresses, hair To View More >>

In just a few days the Queensberry team will be heading off to the excitement and bedlam of WPPI and FOCUS. We love this opportunity to visit the States and the UK, meet old friends and make new ones ... and we hope you'll be among them. Queensberry is for people who believe that the way to succeed is to stand out from the crowd, not join it, and this year we have two new projects to talk to you about: 1. As you may know Apple chose Queensberry as one of "the world's finest bookmakers" to introduce their album design and ordering service in Aperture 3. Far from us to say why they chose us, so come To View More >>

By Isaac de Reus It’s getting towards the end of the “wedding season”… we’re totally snowed under with editing… we are shooting 2, sometimes 3 weddings per weekend… and I’m shattered! So… I thought I’d sit down and list a whole heap of things I love about weddings – as a way to rejuvenating myself – and why not share it? I love seeing families come together, and capturing the little moments as old friends reconnect. I love seeing “everyday people” going through the process of having professional hair, makeup, putting on a beautiful dress. I love the reaction when the To View More >>

On the record, everyone at Queensberry loves the fact that for most photographers it’s much more than a job. Thanks for sharing Isaac. On the Queensberry Blog. Cheers, Ian To View More >>

Like many good things Musée begins with a story. In fact it begins with three stories, and the real magic is how they weave together... The first begins several years ago with a traveller on a bus in Spain, who strikes up a conversation with the woman sitting next to him. They like each other enough to introduce themselves. He's a wedding photographer from the far side of the world, in Spain on a scholarship. She's a paper conservator living in England, home to visit her family in Barcelona - and as it turns out, later, in love. The photographer and the conservator like each other enough to swap To View More >>

We won an award, we shot weddings, my parents came to stay, and there were taxes to pay. In the middle of all the chaos and celebrations we have clients with needs. These needs are as immediate to them as those of the tax department are to us. We also had a bride declare on the day of her wedding that she had lost her groom and that there might not be a wedding .... and it rained. Out of this chaos is the expectation, from each client, that you are there to meet their needs, and sometimes our own entitlement to a personal life is overlooked. It is overlooked by our clients and by ourselves. To View More >>

Check out the Reports feature in Photojunction. They're good for the business end of the album process, like signing off designs and handling edits. Album Menu > Generate Reports Photojunction creates reports as PDFs so they're ideal for sending to clients. Here's an example of a page from a Album Report (Small images) - click to enlarge: There's several other report options to choose from, so have a play and see which best suits your needs. Next in this series Cheers, Danny To View More >>

Well we capped off a successful trade show in Las Vegas by going to the WPPI awards to see Johannes van Kan win the wedding album competition (for a single photographer). Johannes was at home in New Zealand with his lovely wife Jo and "Hurricane Ida", so Heather grabbed the trophy for him and I took this photo on my iPhone. Everyone loved Johannes' imagery and we had a constant stream to the Queensberry stand to check it out (lots of people recognised the Musée album he displayed it in). Thanks a million to everyone who came to see us. The team caught up with a heap of old friends and made lots To View More >>
