I see something cool somewhere and have to share it with my ten best friends ... and some of them like it enough to share the love ... You know the rest ... actually the same works for the flu. So there I was prowling the Digtal Wedding Forum and saw this little baby and thought, Wow! I have to show all the people who haven't seen it yet. This is not about me trying to discover something new, but sharing the love. hugs, Johannes PS Didn't somebody at Olympus do a great job? [He wants one - Ed] To View More >>

How much is an experience worth? (Contains a movie plot spoiler...) If I said to you, "Yeah, in the end the shark gets it," would you still go to the Jaws movie? I could tell you there was blood, pretty girls, lots of really stupid people in boats and a very big angry shark. It could never match the experience, just spoil it. What is that experience worth? Apparently it was worth $260,000,000 in the US alone. If you give your clients a good experience, what is it worth? What is it worth when they tell their friends? I can't tell you enough how valuable the experience of you is to the Bride and To View More >>

Heather, Stephen and Danny met international wedding and lifestyle photographers Jeff and Erin Youngren at WPPI this year... We spotted their website and blog recently, and what stood out, and delighted those of us who'd met them, was how the sites reflect Jeff and Erin. A really accurate, personal presentation of the couple. Great marketing, great presentation and great images. Well worth checking out... Manpreet Sokhi’s album of Dilip and Anchel’s South Indian Hindu wedding made waves through Queensberry. Talia Neal of our design team worked on the striking photofront cover and it triggered a flood of memories in her. The cover symbol is a representation of Ganesha, the Hindu elephant deity whose influence extends even beyond Hinduism and India. The memories evoked were of Talia's time in Nepal as a teenager working for Sir Edmund Hillary's Himalayan Trust – memories rubbed raw by the recent passing of Sir Ed, who with Sherpa Tensing Norgay first climbed Mount Everest in 1953. When people contact us about their wedding, if they are doing a general search, they most often ask, 'How much to shoot our wedding?' Eventually they get around to 'What do I get?' and finally 'Are you available?' This email just came in. It says it all really. To whom it may concern,Would it be possible to be sent a full price list of your wedding packages? Thanks, Justin We all want our clients to care, because it is the caring that makes them better clients. So what are we selling? Are we selling a product at a price? Are we selling our ability to make great photographs? Are we selling our ability To View More >>

My friends, Keith and Maria, live in the future. Its a fact! When my clock says 7pm theirs says 7:15pm. By living 15 minutes in the future they will always be early in our world. That's the plan. When we design albums we design them for the future. We want the albums to be timeless. We keep our albums simple and try to keep away from the latest tricks. We want our albums to keep their dignity – we call it future-proofing. This is not to protect them from the people that do, or will, live in the future, but to protect them (in the future) from poor judgement in their past. Hugs Johannes To View More >>

[caption id="attachment_2679" align="alignnone" width="500" caption="Click on the images to view them larger"][/caption] We often talk about albums catching our eye... This one by Josef Isayo certainly did. He shot Porsche and Adam's wedding in early 2007. The couple, two ER doctors from San Francisco, came to Josef and asked him to shoot their wedding in Cuixmala, Mexico- an opportunity many photographers strive for. But as an experienced destination photographer who's shot several weddings in Mexico, Josef knows it's no walk in the park - you've got to be prepared. I asked Josef to share To View More >>

In their vows they used the word 'forever', or possibly 'until death us do part'. Of course they weren't talking about their wedding album. But as a reflection of that fabulous day, where they promised everything to each other, you would surely expect their album to align with their personal version of 'forever'. We sell this idea to our clients. We tell them that this is why we use Queensberry. Longevity is a double edged sword. Longevity refers to the physical life of the album and its contents. It also refers to the enduring nature of the design and imagery. Read as 'simple is good'. We talk To View More >>

Heather and I bought a second-hand Kenwood mixer thirty years ago when we went to live in the Solomon Islands. We thrashed it for three years making our own bread – a lot better than the sweet yellowy stuff from the local store! – and it still works fine today. After I used it last weekend I posed it next to our toaster and snapped a photo with my iPhone. It looks a bit beaten up but it won't surprise me if the darned mixer outlasts us! Unlike the toaster, which has been a dog since Day One and may not survive the month. Isn't it an awesome thought that the albums you're creating right now To View More >>
Well, we made Photojunction free ... now what? After yesterday's new final we're finalising the development schedule for the next few months. It's always been our goal to make Photojunction the software of choice for wedding and portrait photographers, and we really appreciate the support we get from the thousands of photographers who use it. But we do also recognise that there are four areas where people struggle, or where we can see strong opportunities for improvement. 1, While most people fly through the set up procedure, some people struggle. Maybe it doesn't work as they expect, and therefore To View More >>
